Happy New Year 2012

I hope it is not too late to review my last year's resolution. #Azam 2012: Better late than never ;p

My 2011 resolutions:

1. To write and get publish at least 2 journal papers. One as a middle author and the other as a first author.

One is a total failure and the other one has been submitted to a journal and is still in the process of reviewing.

2. To finish reading 10 books that I have bought for the past few months but didn't get to read it. I'm just not into reading nowadays.

Again, another failure! I have three books that I read halfway, then I caught up with work. After several rounds, I decided to just abandon the idea of me reading non-academic stuff right now. Urgh!

3. Saving money for a trip to a country outside of the US.

Not a complete failure. Not yet. Alhamdulillah so far, I have been saving money enough to pay the flight tickets for both me and Faliela. Daddy bayar sendiri lah ek :D

4. And of course, to be a good mommy for Baby F =)

I have to wait until Faliela starts talking before I know the answer, aite?

2011 has been a challenging year for me, both personal and work life. Nevertheless, I thank Allah for His blessing and the arrival of our joyful baby girl. Despite all the craziness with my life right now, I never regret the decision I've made so far.

For 2012 resolutions, I decided to put it as a short-term resolution and I will be dividing it into a 3-month project. For a start, I am naming this one as "The Winter Break Project". And here it is:

1: Creating a play area for Faliela

2: Baking project

3: Writing THE paper

4: Restarting my sales blog

I wanna elaborate each one of them but looks like I don't have enough time to do one now. So, let just reserve the explanations when I have some updates for ya! Eh tertinggal satu lagi.

5: Baby F no. 2

JUST KIDDING! I got you on that one, ain't I?

We have been talking about having another baby sooner than what we have planned. But for sure, it is not this soon, like in 2012. Tapi kalau dah rezeki, terima ajelah (statement tak menahan)

Off to bed. Til then, zzzzzz :D

It's time of the year again!

As it is Awal Muharram and reaching the end of 2010, it is time to review last year resolution:

1. Not to delay any work, be proactive in making research progress, aiming to complete Ph.D thesis in 4 1/2 years.--->  I think I could finish up my research in 4.5 years but my SV, upon submitting my annual progress report, she said it is too ambitious to finish in 4 years. I'm targeting 4.5 years at most, that's it!

2. By January 2010, I have to start studying at least one page a day for qualifying exam. And of course, passing the qualifying exam which scheduled to be held during summer 2010. Pray for me pals! ---> Do I need to explain more? Well, I actually start studying in June, not January (semangat je lebih :P) Refer to this link to read about my QE experience.

3. Aim to be an early riser! That's tough but it is 'do'able ---> Hahaha. Tettt! Failed! I know rezeki masuk lepas Subuh, but I guess I'm just not a morning person. Perhaps, baby F will make mommy's mission accomplish!

4. Family wise, a big decision which I won't share publicly but will announce when the right time comes ---> Ok. This is a no brainer kot, guessing what me and Jai have been up to since last August. Ngeh ngeh ngeh. Syukur alhamdulillah, Allah granted me the chance of conceiving.

Looking back, I should have been grateful with what I have so far in life. Although I liked to imagine myself being rich sometimes, having what I have right now is more than enough.

So, for 2011 C.E /1432 A.H, my resolutions are:

1. To write and get publish at least 2 journal papers. One as a middle author and the other as a first author.
2. To finish reading 10 books that I have bought for the past few months but didn't get to read it. I'm just not into reading nowadays.
3. Saving money for a trip to a country outside of the US. I'm not sure the location just yet but I've always wanted to visit Europe. The trip might be in 2012 before I leave US.
4. And of course, to be a good mommy for Baby F =)

Keep moving on....

Happy New Year everyone!

By the way, I'm not a fan of New Year. It is just not my style to celebrate New Year. Anyway, 2009 was hell of a year.

2009 was the year where I had achieved the momentum in my study. 2009 was the year I started writing about my ups and downs in this blog. 2009 was the year where Jai finally got his working application through which releases our financial burden a lil bit. 2009 was the year where my bestfriend gets engaged to his 7 years boyfriend (7 ek Oya?) and I was not there to witness the ceremony.

*Gambar memang sengaja curi dari blog Oya*

Anyway, special congrats to you and PLEASE enjoy the wedding preparation ok?

And with that, I'm hoping 2010 will be a smooth-sailing journey with addition of a new family member. This time, it would not be an accident :) Insya-allah.

It is time to review last year's resolution!

Below is my 2009 resolutions which was on my friendster blog. Looking at it again, I think I've achieved 3 out of 5 resolutions. Well, lets go through it one by one..

1) To be outspoken and more interactive with other people..Don’t want to be that girl who sit at the corner and refuse to mingle with other people.. -FAILED!
2) To be more confident in life…  I always have this low self-esteem, insecure, inferior kind of attitude.. -I HAVE MORE CONFIDENCE COMPARED TO THE TIME I FIRST ARRIVED IN THE US. SO, PARTIALLY PASSED!
3) To be a good wife on weekend.. Not that I’m a bad wife on weekdays, only that I don’t have time to cook for my hubby.. So will make it up for him on weekends… What do you want honey? Nasi lemak, roti jala, steak, rendang? Anything for you on the weekend ok.. Mmuahhh.. -PASSED WITH FLYING COLORS EXCEPT DURING EXAM WEEK.
4) To be a devoted hamba Allah.. People always realised this when it is too late.. Insya-allah, He will show me the path…. -STILL SEARCHING AND HOPING THAT HE WILL ALWAYS SHOW ME THE RIGHT PATH. INSYA-ALLAH
5) To start saving money for the future.. This is the best time as I can at least triple up the money I got because of the currency.. My aims are to buy a house when I got back to Malaysia and also to settle off all my PTPTN debt. -PARTIALLY PASSED!

So, for 2010 resolutions (wow, it's 2010 already?) I'll try to be realistic :)

1. Not to delay any work, be proactive in making research progress, aiming to complete Ph.D thesis in 4 1/2 years.
2. By January 2010, I have to start studying at least one page a day for qualifying exam. And of course, passing the qualifying exam which scheduled to be held during summer 2010. Pray for me pals!
3. Aim to be an early riser! That's tough but it is 'do'able
4. Family wise, a big decision which I won't share publicly but will announce when the right time comes.

Well, I do not want to be over-ambitious. So, I guess four is enough for the time being. Anyway, what's your resolutions?
